Prescriptive Path
“Prescriptive Path” is a design model which allows a builder or designer to build to a prescribed path or, in other words, using existing rules of structural design.
Many, if not most, of the homes built today in Clark County are NOT built per prescriptive path but instead must be sent out by the Building Department for outside engineering work.
Pre-approved engineering exists for foundation work INCLUDING RETAINING WALLS within certain parameters. We fully understand the prescriptive method of building and can apply it in most jurisdictions. Space does not permit that we include the numerous details, which may be accessed at the Clark County Building Department, but we will show one IRC model and a diagram explaining salient points. We hope this can be of help to you.
